Tough Breaks
It was incredibly cool this morning. Minnesota has been known for its Indian Summers and hopefully we will see some nice temperatures and weather throughout the fall. But today, I would be surprised if it breaks 60 degrees.
Both Deano and I could not sit still on this cool Sunday and we both had an itch to play a couple of rounds of tennis. I dug around in my closet and found my racket and a couple of tennis balls that still had some fuzz on them. I met Dean at a court by his house to face the 50 degree weather outside. The more we played the more clothes we stripped off. We were down to tennis shoes and shorts before we finally called it quits. Dean beat me as usual. He is really not that good, but then, what does that say about me?
2nd. What else is there to do for us on our last official day of summer vacation except play football? We were able to take advantage of sleeping in this morning because today we have one practice only, and it is in the afternoon. When the afternoon practice did roll around, we had ourselves a spirited one. It must have been the fact that we only had one practice that we were so full of energy. Whatever the reason was, we really whooped it up and the coaches were pleased with our vocal positive attitudes.
After practice, I still tipped the scale at 210 pounds. I will need every pound of it for I have another 1/8 ton opponent to move from the line come Friday night. Two hundred fifty pounds, big deal! I’ll move him!
